Baby Erik is healthy and thriving on the donated formula. We took him for his immunizations on the 21st February and are happy to report he is a healthy 5.5 kilograms at 3.5 months of age. Holding him is CAS Student Megan Thorpe who was with him at the Puskesmas Pondok Ranji where the CAS health group are developing an excellent rapport with the friendly nurses ( who are now keen to help when we come in). From a health perspective, this relationship that we are developing with the local health services is a mutually beneficial one as more of the SB! families are regularly accessing what is theirs by right but underutilized for a multiple number of reasons. A special mention also to a new CAS team member, Rahul, who went out on a cultural limb when he was asked to interpret for us (with the permission of the mother involved) as it involved an issue regarding personal feminine information. He handled himself with decorum and aplomb despite the discomfort such a situation might have caused. Thank you Rahul and thank you again to everyone who donated the items for Erik.
